The Chicago rap scene is very segragated and cold. Not much support comes from the city for local artist... Is it because nobody from Chicago is making music the "streets" want to hear? Or is it because in the city of Chicago, most of the audience feels that they are too rappers and react like critics to the music instead of fans? There are many different possibilities why the Chicago rap game is lacking relevance and support...
In the following video, a promoter was holding a showcase for local Chicago artists before a Big Sean (G.O.O.D. Music) performance. The promoter booked 32 acts to perform before Big Sean took the stage, and charged each act $300 a peice (or sell 30 tickets at $10 a peice)... Only 14 out of 30 acts where able to perform. The results came to a local Chicago artist jumping on stage, taking the mic out of Big Sean's hands, and saying "FUCK CHICAGO" to the crowd... The main host of the event "Hustle Simmons" then body slammed the rapper off of the stage... WOW!
